Scope
There is no best answer to this question. In terms of Project Management, scope refers to the detailed list of expected deliverables after the successful completion of the project. In the initiation phase, there is a high level of understanding of scope which is then detailed out (using tools like WBS) in the planning phase along with resource requirements and predecessors. In DMAIC approach, scope refers to the boundaries of the process within which the improvement or change is required.

All the published answers are correct. While Sanjay's answer brings about the view point of DMAIC vs DFSS need, Titus' answer builds on a recent experience with cherry picking. However the two answers which give a holistic comparison of pros and cons of cherry picking w.r.t project selection are from Sundeep and Rajesh. Hence both the answers have been selected as best answers.

calibration of weigh scale
Hello Nagraj You need to determine the accuracy of the measuring device. But looking at the image and the question, the weight 30.8 Tons seems to be very very high as compared to the actual standard weight range that was used (as per image). In such cases, gauge might suffer linearity failure.
