  1. This was a tricky one to answer and I'm pleasantly surprised to see some great answers. There are two winners for this question - Plato Pathrose and Gopal Menon.
  2. Excellent attempt by all respondents at a slightly tricky question. Technical Debt though not very good for a software project, it is something that is inevitable. Every project will have some technical debt. However, lesser is always better as it means less refactoring and rework. Chaitanya has provided the best answer to the question.
  3. Interesting perspectives on the toughest component of a time series. In my view and with my experience, if I have to put the components in a decreasing order of toughness to handle, it would be cyclical > seasonal > trend. Best answer has been provided by Sandip Mittra.
  4. The winning answer was provided by Prashant Philip Vargis for providing the use cases for both Tableau and Power BI.
  5. Excellent answers from all participants. The best answer was provided by Roshini Vijayan for exploring the possibilities of multiple steps being integrated within the different phases of DMAIC.

The best answer to this question has been provided by James Bob Lawless for highlighting the various methods by which refactoring can be avoided and Mohamed Asif for highlighting multiple guidelines for doing refactoring. And then, there are a couple of answers that are a must read - Chaitanya Shankar Nemani for giving the perspective of technical debt, Johanan Collins for highlighting a risk in refactoring.
  7. Great information on visual controls shared by all respondents. Pradeep Singh has provided the best answer to this question by highlighting the effectiveness of each of the methods in specific areas. Other answers worth reading are from Kiran Kumar and Mohamed Asif.

While some of the examples are common and are quoted by many, there are a few unique ones - Satish, Prashant, Johanan, Prabhu, Kiran and Vijay. The winning answer is from Johanan for providing more details about HCD and for quoting substantially higher number of unique examples.

  13. While there are a couple of answers that theoretically explain the differences between card sorting and affinity diagrams, the question was about quoting an example as well. There is only one answer which has attempted that - hence Gopal Menon's answer has been selected as the winning answer.

  17. This question was a slightly tricky one as the concept of OTED is very similar to SMED. Congratulations to all the participants whose answers have been published. All the answers are worth a read, There are 2 winners for this question - Varuna Kakathkar (for providing some relevant examples where OTED has been implemented) and Johanan Collins (for elaborating the fitment of the concept in continuous improvement culture).

There are 3 best answers to this question provided by - Johanan Collins, Meenakshi Iyer, Mohammad Mahmudul Hassan. P.S. It was difficult to identify one winner and hence selected 3.And thank you for putting the source of the images.
  19. Most of the answers have highlighted the most common usage of a Shadow Board i.e. in 5S implementation. However, Shadow Boards are also used in organizations to keep a tab on the underlying themes rather than the superficial trends with respect to customer behavior and youth preferences. From the published answers, the winning answer has been written by Meenakshi Iyer. P.S. I notice that a lot of respondents have sourced images. It would be nice to mention the reference to the images so that due credit can be given.

Answers from Johanan (for an alternative method to read RICE score) and Meenakshi (for names of other prioritization techniques) are a must read.

  24. Couple of very interesting answers. However the answer that truly stands out with respect to reasoning is from Mohammad Mahmudul Hassan. Hence his answer has been declared as the winner. A close second was the answer from Swarandeep Kaur Juneja for the example that was quoted.
