  1. Johanan has provided the winning answer to this question. He has also mentioned about the Bathtub Curve. You can read about it here.
  2. Kudos to Manish and Johanan for attempting this very tricky question. Since the confidence level of 95% is fixed, a p-value of either 0.049 or 0.002 would yield the same inference. However, since smaller p-values provide increasing stronger evidence, as a researcher I would like to see it as small as possible There are no clear winners for this answer. The response from our in-house expert is a must read.
  3. Both the answers are excellent and very well structured. Hence, both have been declared as winners. Well done!!
  4. Johanan and Priyanka have given relevant examples for explaining the statement. The winning answer has been provided by Johanan.
  5. The answers by Satinder Singh and Johanan Collins are very well structured and hence both have been selected as winners.
  6. Priyanka Bose has provided the most comprehensive answer to the question and hence her answer has been selected as the best answer. The other answers are also a must read.
  7. All the answers beautifully explain the difference between the three terms. Johanan's answer has been selected as the best answer for the example to support the explanation.
  8. Beautiful explanations and some amazing examples for Customer Journey Maps. The best answer has been provided by Roshini Vijayan. Johanan's answer is a must read for the various formats in which CJM can be done.
  9. While all answers beautifully explain the merits of a project charter and risks of not having one, the preference was given to the answer which highlights the maximum number of risks. Hence, the answer from Sanchita Roy has been marked as the winning answer.
  10. Interesting answers to an interesting question. The best answer has been provided by Sanchita Roy.
  11. Johanan has provided the best answer to this question. Answer from Sai Kotari is a must read.
  12. Brilliant explanation provided by all respondents. Best answer was provided by Johanan Collins. His answer also highlights the difference between the 3 variations of Rootogram.
  13. Very interesting answers to an equally interesting topic There are two winners for this question - Johanan Collins and Sai Kotari. Johanan for the shear vastness of information provided with respect to ANOVA and Sai for highlighting various related concepts like within and between variations plus confidence intervals. Well done!
  14. Yamazumi is a very famous chart when it comes to identifying bottlenecks in the process. The best answer has been provided by Chaitanya. Other answers are worth a read for the examples quoted.
  15. This question is amongst one of the many misunderstood concepts in Lean Six Sigma. The question particularly asked for tests to compare variances for more than 2 populations, however, there were many responses that described ANOVA and other similar methods. These methods are used to compare the central tendencies (mean or median) of the multiple populations. They do not compare the variances (spread of the data). From all the approved responses, the best response is from Afzal. Well done! P.S. - responses that detailed ANOVA and other methods have not been approved as they are incorrect responses.
  16. It was easy to identify the winner - Johanan Collins. Response from Manish Manjhi is a must read.
  17. This was a tough choice as there are answers which explain multi-voting well but without an example and vice versa. Considering that the question explicitly asked for an example, the winning answer has been selected from Chaitanya Shankar Nemani. Plus there is another common limitation in multi-voting - Bias. Voting can be influenced. Finally, while there is a school of thought that believes multi-voting and NGT are same (and some of your answers did reflect that), there is another that feels otherwise. While both the tools appear to be similar, they are different. I guess it is obvious as to which school I belong to P.S. The 2 different thought schools were not a part of decision criteria.
  18. Excellent explanation by Johanan and hence his answer is selected as the best answer.
  19. There are only guidelines and rule of thumbs regarding this. We consider XX% below to accommodate for process variations.
  20. Interesting answers to an enticing question. Both Deming and Crosby have laid out principles for an organization to optimize their processes. This question gives us an insight into the similarities and differences between the two. Best answer has been provided by Sandip Mittra. Well done!
  21. Hello John Few points to check 1. Have all process steps including material movement being covered in the chart? 2. Does this chart represent the actual mean time? (Any possibility of process changes where the mean time has increased and hence this chart is no longer valid)
  22. There are only 2 answers that have shown the differences between a regular control chart and CUSUM chart, making my job that much easier The best answer to the last question of 2021 has been provided by Gopal Menon. Read Johanan's answer to look at another example and Sandip's answer for a tabulated comparison.
  23. Platform economy is the new dimension that is driving the growth of organizations and countries. With this new dimension, there are new challenges for the organizations. This question sought a view of the participants as to how Lean Six Sigma can help these organizations along with the key drivers. There are two responses which stand out and hence have been selected as winning answers - Johanan and Gopal.
  24. This was a difficult one and I am pleasantly surprised to see some great answers from participants. There are two winners for this question - Sandeep and Shiva. Well done!
  25. Very interesting question and equally interesting answers The best answer has been provided by Johanan Collins.
