  1. Ankur Sarkar has provided the best answer to this question. P.S. Many answers have not been approved due to a high % of AI-generated content and/or plagiarism.
  2. This was a relatively easy question to answer. Many answers have not been approved as they had high AI-generated content. Among the answers that have been approved, Ankur Sarkar has given the best answer. He has rightly highlighted the limitations of Mood's Median test.
  3. The question mentions that the 1-Variance Test is a lesser-known statistical tool. Some of the answers that have not been approved are because they explained two variance tests and their variations. From the published answers, Venkateswaran Kazhagamani's answer has been selected as the winner for giving relevant examples.
  4. Hello Pradeep 2 replicates are fine. It will take care of noise factors during the experimentations. Regards Mayank Gupta
  5. Good to see some well researched and drafted answers. The best answer has been provided by Rakesh Naik. It is recommended that you go through the other answers as well. There is something new to learn in every answer!
  6. There were many answers to this question, however only 2 are visible as the others were not published. The others either failed the plagiarism or the AI generated content test or both. I request all participants to write the answers in their own words. Best answer has been provided by Venkateswaran Kazhagamani.
  7. Problem Definition Tree can be used for multiple purposes - a. It is used to identify the project Y from a big Y' b. It is used as a tool to identify the problems, its causes and effects. Here the question specifically asked how it is used for point a. If you have answered for point b, it might not be the right answer, however I have still approved it so that readers can get another perspective on usage of Problem Definition Tree. The best answer has been provided by Venkateswaran Kazhagamani for providing the correct explanation and also sharing an example. Note: Starting with this question, we are also checking for AI generated answers. Answers which have more than 15-20% of AI generated content will not be approved. This is the reason that many of the answers have not been approved. Like we always say - you can do your online research but the answer has to be in your words only.
  8. It was a treat to review all the answers. So many different examples. Wow! The best answer has been provided by Partho Karmakar.
  9. Interesting answers from all respondents. Best answer has been provided by Vijay Tomar.
  10. Great answers from all respondents. The best answer has been provided by Partho Karmakar.
  11. Vijay Tomar has provided the best answer to this question by elaborating the IMR chart and also providing an example of working with Control Chart for transformed data.
  12. The best answer to this question has been provided by Priyanka Bose. Answer from Khalandar is also a must read.
  13. Must read answers from all respondents. Some answers focus more on the usage within DMAIC, some focus more on cross industry usage. Best answer (most number of valid use cases) if from Amit Kumar Shukla.
  14. Very informative answers. It was a tought one to decide. The best answer has been given by Vidhya Rathinavelu. Answers from Gitarchana, Khalandar and Ajay are also a must read.
  15. This was a very tricky one. Good to read the viewpoints of the respondents. While I-MR chart is a universal control chart and can be used in all possible situations. Hence, it can be used in this situation as well. However, for the specific situation given a Z-MR control chart is a better control chart since no two deliveries are same and hence can be considered a short run process. Therefore it is better to standardize the values and use a Z-MR chart. Winning answer has been given by Khalandar S. Well done!
  16. While all answers are correct, the best answers has been provided by Moushmi Kandori and Gitarchana Roy.
  17. Best answer to this question has been given by Moushmi Kandori. Well done. Vijay's answer is also a must read.
  18. The question was more experimental than theoretical. One would have to create histograms with different bin sizes and then be able to answer this question. The best answer is from Partho Karmakar. Generally it is recommended to have 5 to 20 bins in a histogram (however it would also depend on the range of the dataset).
  19. Interesting answers to a tricky question. The best answer has been provided by Partho Karmakar. Well done!
  20. OH MY GOD. There were about 8 answers to this question, however, you are able to see only 3 answers because most of the other were incorrect Even from the published answers, there are 2 answers that have not tried to answer the question, however they are not incorrect. The only answer which is correct is from Vijay Tomar and hence has been selected as the best answer. Great answer Vijay. Note: Some people seem to be using ChatGPT to find forum answers. This is a risky approach as ChatGPT is error prone as our questions are application questions (they are never straightforward). Have a look at this funny example - https://www.benchmarksixsigma.com/forum/topic/39458-using-ai-to-respond-to-forum-questions/ Recommendation is to research with caution and write correct answers.
  21. Reminds me of an old saying - "Nakal ke liye, Akal ki bhi zarurat hot hai"
  22. Very different perspectives to the same situation. Respondents have covered all the three control charts as the most appropriate to be used in this situation. However, what is missing is the rationale for the choice and hence there is no winner for this question. The choice is of the time period or the frequency at which the control chart should be plotted. It is one of the inputs that goes into deciding the right control chart and it is a balance between cost of sampling and testing versus cost of not detecting shifts in Mean or variation. Sampling less frequently will not allow for sufficient detection of shifts in the process and hence the customer suffers. Sampling too frequently will incur additional cost and hence the organization suffers. Given a choice, do not be afraid to sample more frequently to begin with and then reduce the frequency once the process seems to be stable. As a rule of thumb, I-MR chart should always be used first to understand the shifts and drifts in individual points and will allow for better process control. Once the process is reasonably stable, you could then move to either Xbar-R or Xbar-S. Illustration, I generated some random numbers for 10 days. All 3 charts given below I-MR Chart shows that process is unstable. Xbar-R chart (shift wise) shows that the process is stable. Xbar-S chart (day wise) shows process is stable. Now if we directly start using Xbar-R or Xbar-S chart, then we will never realize that the process is going out of control within a shift.
  23. Partho Karmakar has provided the best answer to this question by highlighting how JBS can be integrated in all phases of DMAIC. A close second was Amit's answer. Another pertinent point that Gitarchana mentions in her answer - JBS is a process document and hence it is a live document i.e. it needs to be kept updated to reflect the current state of the process. Great answers to read!
  24. Interesting applications highlighted by a couple of respondents. The best answer has been provided by Partho Karmakar. Reply from Moushmi is also a must read.
  25. While all the published answers are correct, the winning answer has been provided by Amit Kumar Shukla. Well done!
