Time Spent In Removing Mrp Labels And Pasting New Ones
Dear Friends, I am working on a Project to Increase the Day to Day effciency of Dispatch Process at Warehouse. When did the RCA, we found that most of the time people were spending time Removing Labels from individual product given by the supplier and then add our Labels with new MRP. We thought of asking the supplier to provide the product with exact MRP price lable however my company changes the price every 6 months and supplier lead time is 3 months on a average to ship a product. Hence we always order in advance and then change labels in warehouse, now this process needs to be eliminated cause it is taking up a lot of resources and time. The objective is not to reduce the staff but to decrease the time taken to do the exercise. Would appreciate all suggestions and improvements ideas. Regards, Mahipal

I can share with you once I start, however if there is any thing from your side then please let me know. my email address [email protected] Cheer's Mahipal

Are Sigma Professionals specialist or generalist?
Hi, My question to all Sigma Professional's is that does it require one to be a specialist to do a project ? Lets say you want to do a project in HR or Sales, Supply Chain Management...is it necessary that you have experience in those domains? Are you required to be a Specialist to draw process in DFSS project ? Because having to know what that function does and how it operates is also important. So how does one tackle this issue... The highest resistance comes from Management..when they ask do you have domain expertise in this function... How do we tackle this hurdle ? success to this answer is Sales for us...if we can beat this question...we can have more credibility and people will then approach...to have more and more projects closed. I appreciate all answers..suggestions..because it is question we all face... Regards, Mahipal

Does Cost Reduction Project Qualify As A Dmaic Project?
Hi, In my views this can a GB project if the improvement only affects & involves one department in the company. For it to be BB it the effect will be on multiple departments and will involve process changes at many level. Hence if you go my the above explanation you will be able to justify as this project will be a GB or BB. The word inspection open doors to many doubts and grey areas. The first reason to have inspection means you are looking for quality and zero defects. If there is 100% inspection means there will be a definition for defects and there are different opearators doing the inspection hence Gage R & R surely can be done. My approach would be Define the defect, Calculate Sigma, do Gage R & R, do a CP , CPK, find out the cycle time taken for each inspection, Reduce the cycle time will surely help in reducing overall cost. I hope I am able to give some amount of guidance. Best of Luck
