  1. 5 why analysis helps to understand the underlying root cause due to which a problem is occurring, Is/Is not analysis can be used for root cause identification however it can also be used to define a complex problem. The Is/ Is not matrix helps to separate the factors that are not the problem. This helps to narrow down the scope of the problem and focus on the problem area. In a why why analysis each cause is further studied for factors that make the cause occur. Is/Is not analysis on other hand is based on getting to the most relevant factor by theory of elimination. Of course the elimination has to be done based on certain validation. an example is attached.

The following are the four essentials of a Lean Management System, categorized under Strategic, Operational, Governance, and People Engagement: Strategic: The strategic aspect of the Lean Management System focuses on setting a clear direction for the organization, identifying goals and objectives, and aligning resources to achieve them. The essential components under this category are: Strategy Deployment involves aligning the organization's goals and objectives with daily activities and tasks. 3. Lean is a key and versatile approach in any transformation IMHO. Have seen in my experience as how Lean has helped organisations in saving effort, time and cost. Just to point out few examples, Lean principles and concepts play an important role in the agile world today. Scrum has rewritten it's framework (it says Scrum is based on Empiricism and Lean Thinking from being 'Empiricism based' in its previous version). Scrum is one of the most popular agile frameworks used by teams. The fundamental aspect of SAFe (one of the most popular scaled agile models at this point of time, used by many large enterprises) is Value Stream Mapping which focuses on waste reduction. SAFe 6.0 has more focus on Lean approach Therefore, every organization (irrespective of the industry that it belongs to) is making effective usage of Lean principles and ways of working.
