I am working as a manager in quality department at Tata motors - Jamshedpur (Heavy vehicles factory)
I like to know what are all the training which is suit for my career(Related to Quality for Automotive) , so that it can fetch a added advantage in my career

All three programs GB, BB and Lean are relevant. We have been conducting programs for automotive manufacturing companies including Tata Motors.

You can rest assured that if there are two sectors where almost all Six Sigma and Lean tools can be applied, they are Automotive and Aerospace (manufacturing).

Basically, are you into Quality Assurance or Productivity & Quality Department its not clear.Besides, i can give little bit light on quality assurance .

If you are into Quality Assurance means you have to take training into IMS (Intergrated Management Systems) which related to your organisation product and services. The trainings are ISO 9001:2008 (QMS), ISO 14001:2004 (EMS) and ISO 18001:2007 (OSHAS) and with additional of Six sigma BlackBelt.

As you mentioned you are handling sales and distribution for your Organisation, I would like to recommend you Six Sigma Green Belt Training to you. To give you an overview, using Six Sigma methodologies, you can identify the solutions for problems of unkknown origin.

For example:

a) Identify reasons for low sales in a particular region in Delhi, 

Ineffective distribution in a region, as compared to competitors

c) How to use the sales team in the most effective method thus generating maximum revenue

d) Identify the unnecessary (Non Value Adding) steps in the sales and distribution cycle and removing them to decrease cost/ increase revenue

Hello Sarang,

Most of the leading companies are using Six Sigma Concept. This is due to the fact they have gone for ISO/TS 16949 certification. If you go into details of this certification, you will realise that many of the Six Sigma techniques are required to be demonstrated for it.

I am also from manufacturing quality background. 90 % of the time problems in quality can be solved using lean or Six Sigma Concept efficiently and in less time because It is a methodology to solve the problem. Quality department is suppose to support production department to solve the problem. This will become easier if you start using six sigma tools. Most commonly used tool in Manufacturing is DOE for optimization and better understanding of 'o/p as a function of i/p parameter' model.  

I am strong believer of Total employee involvement thro TQM (Deming approach )+ Lean Six SIGMA( ( Projects to save Crores of Rupees )+QMS Through  ISO/TS 16949 2009 + EMS +OHAS and I am leading the programs
