Brand Vs Quality
exactly.... first things first... Quality is foremost.. then comes the price.. if quality and price are same, then comes the brand..!! brand takes the third place..

Linkedin For Mba Students?
I see LinkedIn as a more professional networking site than twitter.. 1) The Living Resume – LinkedIn is an excellent way to share and update your resume 2) Networking / Opportunity Seeking - LinkedIn helps us network with like minded people and helps us share opportunites... yes, LinkedIn and Twitter are much needed platform for MBA grads and yes, the team will succeed.

How Lean Six Sigma Impacts Your Future?
it would definitely have an impact... 1) Professional - It is an industry independent certification.. so it will help us shift industries.. also, we can use it any domain, be it marketing, finance, HR, IT... 2) Personal - There is a process in anything that we do, even in our personal life.. we have problems everywhere.. so these tools help us understand ourselves and become a better self by eliminating the recurring problems...

As The King, So The People?
I support the view - As the king, so the people. But this largely depends on the situation that we take. Example.. in a simple classroom situation, if the professor himself is not disciplined in coming to class at the scheduled time, he is setting a wrong example for the students.. and also, he will not be in a position to question a student who comes late, next time... As the king, so the people... Hence proved!

Six Sigma : Saviour In The Times Of Recession
Exactly.. The greatness of a legend is seen during the toughest of the times... same is the scenario with companies. It need not be a recession time, even during a normal time, the competitive industry expects everyone to be lean.. they need to cut the unnecessary wastes and make themselves a cost leader... even in a service industry, the much needed 'differentiator' could be derived from the six sigma analysis.

Nobody Is A Stranger ?
good one.... This is the positivity of social media and Technology.. They have changed the landscape of our networking skills. It has given me a new dimension to ponder about - "Strangeness of the relation"... the "weak links" are not exactly a weak link.. they are strong indeed...

Brand Vs Quality
Brand Vs Quality - This has always intrigued me.. Personally, I would think Quality wins over Brand. I second Aayush's view that Brand needs to maintain Quality to retain their brand image.. but on the other hand, as a consumer, what I need is Quality and I may not be interested to pay extra amount for the company to spend and build its brand... As a simple customer not addicted to prestige, any day Quality wins over Brand... ROI Speaks..!!

Follower As Important As The Leader
On similar lines, without the follower, the leader never becomes or never sustains as a leader.. Ex. There were so many medical advances done by our ancestors like Ayurveda, Sidda, Unani... but they were not properly documented and was not properly FOLLOWED by the successors, and those medical innovations died a natural death..!! Takeaway : Without a follower, leader and his inventions never sustain..!!

Follower As Important As The Leader
Interesting video... Yes, Follower is also as important as the leader... It is the follower who initiates the 'virality' in any movement. Even the famous 'Kolaveri' song was made viral, not by the leader (who posted the video),, but by the followers (who viewed, liked, shared the video).. and the end result is all that we know. @Aayush, I would differ with you in your key take away.. Follower may not lack self confidence, he too needed a lot of guts to be there with the leader (till the momentum gathers) and get ridiculed by the on-lookers... He was involved in all the hardships but never got the limelight.

six sigma Vs 4.5 Sigma
Hi, We say that Six Sigma corresponds to 3.4 defects per million opportunities, but mathematically speaking, 3.4 DPMO corresponds to 4.5 sigma levels. Why do we do this 1.5 sigma shift ?? why not call it 4.5 sigma.. or what is so special about '6' is six sigma.. ?? pls share your thoughts. Viswanathan.

Six Sigma Vs Iso
Hi, When I discuss about Six Sigma with people of similar interests, some of them argue with me that Six Sigma and ISO are similar concepts. Both strive to achieve process improvements, and both are implementable in all the domains. Though I have argued with them saying Six Sigma is about improving a certain process by analyzing and improving it to better quality and also about data driven decision making, ISO works on fulfilling the certain best standards for a prescribed quality., my friends were not completely convinced. If six sigma is a very powerful concept, why are organizations still going for ISO ?? Pls enlighten us with the differences between the two. Thanks, Viswanathan.

Planning An Industry Shift? Six Sigma Competence Can Help
I completely agree with you sir. Being an MBA student, I feel that Six Sigma is the most industry-neutral training that anyone can undergo. Six Sigma concepts can be employed where ever there is a process, and that needs improvement. This gives a wide scope in all industries including Automobile, Telecom, IT, BPO/KPO, Education, Manufacturing, Service sector, etc..., hence, shift between these sectors is also viable.

Six Sigma makes a comeback !?
From a bird's eye view, Six Sigma is a collection of the best standards, best problem solving approaches from across the world, across industries. The names by which they were called could be different, but ultimately, these concepts were used and will be used in the years to come.
