Linkedin For Mba Students?

Featured Replies

While B School students have good networking and learning opportunities on linkedin, their time is spent more on facebook and twitter. A small team at Mumbai and Pune is trying to change this.

Is such a team likely to succeed?

Linkedin is a social networking website for professionals. This concept has not sunk in well till now among most of the students of B-Schools. Students fail to realize the immense potential that Linkedin offers. Linkedin helps students to showcase their skills and achievements to the professionals across various domains in the industry. It provides the much-needed platform to the students who are looking for Short term projects / Internships / Placements. Once the students realize this, they will spend more time on Linkedin and explore the untapped opportunities. Apart from this, Linkedin comes up with the latest developments across all industries where students can visit to keep themselves updated.

Yes, the team is likely to succeed.

Yes, The team will succeed.

LinkedIn has quickly become an essential networking took for professionals across all demographics, as evident by its estimated 100 million members. Often referred to as the Facebook of business, this professional networking site can be a valuable resource for MBA students. While comparisons to Facebook are inevitable, the way people use LinkedIn to connect to others reaches a different market. Rather than connecting users to one another for social reasons, LinkedIn connects users to the business world providing them with a virtual platform to display professional work experience, connections, and groups. It’s a one stop shop for anyone who wants to market themselves for job opportunities, business endeavors, or networking opportunities.

I see LinkedIn as a more professional networking site than twitter..

1) The Living Resume – LinkedIn is an excellent way to share and update your resume

2) Networking / Opportunity Seeking - LinkedIn helps us network with like minded people and helps us share opportunites...

yes, LinkedIn and Twitter are much needed platform for MBA grads and yes, the team will succeed.
