Master Black Belt Trained certificate shall be awarded on successful completion of training and clearing the examination. MBB certification can be achieved by candidates who provide evidence for all of the following criteria within three years of MBB training: Complete the prescribed curriculum and get 60% or more in examination, Complete 2 Black Belt level six sigma projects (or) Mentor 5 Green Belt / Black Belt level Six Sigma projects, Attend a structured training on Lean Thinking, Concepts and Tools. (Although it is recommended that participations go through Lean program before MBB training, it can be undertaken after MBB training).

The examination consists of 70 multiple choice Questions to be answered in 90 Minutes.

The examination contains 40 Multiple Choice Questions to be answered in 60 minutes.

A score of 60% is needed in the certification examination at the end of the workshop. The examination uses a multiple choice format and has a time limit of one hour.

The pre-requisite for attending a Benchmark Six Sigma Black Belt program is completion of a globally accepted Green Belt training. Completion of a Green Belt project prior to the Black Belt training is not mandatory. A good number of participants are able to carry out their first Six Sigma project as a Black Belt project.

Benchmark Six Sigma offers Black Belt programs in different formats. In-company programs have the option of project supported format in addition to training-only format. Our Public Black Belt course has Green Belt qualification as a pre-requisite. The course duration of this Black Belt program is six days. The first part of the training (three days) covers Define, Measure, and Analyze phases. Participants are provided practice questions for self learning before they attend the second phase. The second part covers improve and control phases. Practical exercises are completed at the end of each day to reinforce the concepts covered during the day. Both the phases of training are usually held on Friday-Saturday-Sunday to minimize disruption to work schedules.

There may be providers who conduct 2 or 3 days and even online training or direct examination.
