November 9, 201114 yr Here is good example for 80-20 rule. Here, it is even more lopsided. Apple owns 4% of the mobile phone market but controls a large share of the profit in the industry.
May 9, 201313 yr Indeed a good example !! Just one thing to add on to the use of 80/20 rule: The 80/20 Rule, can serve as a daily reminder for us to focus 80 percent of our time and energy on the 20 percent of our work that is most important. Don't just "work smart", work smart and on the right things.
May 13, 201313 yr This is in fact one of the most pertinent examples of 80/ 20 rule that also shows the power of a Brand. Apple is known for groundbreaking innovations and this entitles it to earn a brand premium. Apple has time and again surprised people with its offerings. And all this took shape under the leadership of Steve Jobs... a true manager and visionary!!
July 8, 201312 yr Very good example... no better way to explain such an important concept... and as rightly pointed by Inderjeet, to gain maximum efficiency, Hard working people, focus on all the 100 and toil over their energy and resources... but, Smart workers, pick the vital few (20%) and gain the trivial many (80%).... this is called smart work...
