  1. As mentioned above, Group Learning is considered as one of the best practices followed for learning. Immense learning comes from such activities and it helps in retention as well. These activities induce a sense of competition among the various teams and in order to present the best solution to the project, the best comes out of the participants.
  2. How to implement Six Sigma for new processes? For any new process, the DMADV method can be considered for the primary Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma. DMADV means for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. Professionals who were trained in specific methods as commonly known as Green Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belts depending on their mastery levels. The Define and Verify phase would give you an opportunity to re-design and re verify the new processes and implement the one that had the maximum payoff. Is Six Sigma useful for Operations / Manufacturing only? Six Sigma is applicable in all the domains namely Marketing, HR, Finance, IT and Operations. Also, it is applicable in all the sectors like Telecom, IT, Health Services, Hospitality, etc. As we know that there are processes involved in all the domains and Six Sigma teaches Process improvement, so simply put Six Sigma is applicable in all the domains. The other two key learnings are Problem Solving and Data Driven decision making. Need not be said again, that there are problems involved in all the sectors and Six Sigma helps in giving a structured approach for the same.

  4. It has been pointed out correctly by my friends above, that Six Sigma is applicable almost everywhere and it has always yielded results. Six Sigma is no longer a domain/sector specific approach, whereas it is a structured approach for process improvements, problem-solving and data have driven decision making. We have huge databases available in all the domains and it is very important to have a proper analysis of the data. Data does speak a lot, but not on its own! We need to make the data speak and it can do wonders! In my opinion, Six Sigma is being applied in all the domains, it is just that people are not accepting it as Six Sigma. I am sure that in the times to come, Six Sigma would be accepted in all the domains and all the sectors.

It provides the much-needed platform to the students who are looking for Short term projects / Internships / Placements. Once the students realize this, they will spend more time on Linkedin and explore the untapped opportunities. Apart from this, Linkedin comes up with the latest developments across all industries where students can visit to keep themselves updated. Yes, the team is likely to succeed.
