  1. Hansei is more or less a review mechanism which focuses on any gaps which have resulted due to any measurable deviation from the target. Both Hansei & Kaizen focus on continuous improvement. Kaizen is religiously practised in six sigma organizations as each day brings new challenges and those challenges are critically evaluated to find opportunities for improvement. Both Hansei & Kaizen do share a symbiotic relationship.
  2. Staff should be incentivised at all levels. If you look at the RACI chart each individual has some role to play. Keeping staff motivated will bring them all together with a shared vision & purpose and will facilitate the change quickly.
  3. No, the reason being each project is unique in its own way. If you are aware of six sigma tools & methodoligies you will be able to apply all of them in any given project. Adding to this, six sigma black belt plays a role of a facilitator in complex business environment and champions in bringing a radical change at the leadership level. If he/she has a psychology background then he/she can understand the human dynamics in far better way. It is all about changing the mindset first. If that happens, any re-engineering or business improvement can be done.
