May 22, 201115 yr Hi, My question to all Sigma Professional's is that does it require one to be a specialist to do a project ?Lets say you want to do a project in HR or Sales, Supply Chain Management...is it necessary that you have experience in those domains? Are you required to be a Specialist to draw process in DFSS project ? Because having to know what that function does and how it operates is also important. So how does one tackle this issue...The highest resistance comes from Management..when they ask do you have domain expertise in this function...How do we tackle this hurdle ? success to this answer is Sales for us...if we can beat this question...we can have more credibility and people will then approach...to have more and more projects closed.I appreciate all answers..suggestions..because it is question we all face...Regards,Mahipal
September 10, 201114 yr In DFSS project, the specialists have the biggest role to play. In my view, it is best that a specialist leads a DFSS project. However, a DMAIC project is often led by generalists. In all type of projects, subject matter expert is a key team member.
