September 30, 20223 yr Hi, After the LSSGB training, I believe there are many problems in a BPO Industry that can be addressed using Six Sigma. No doubt about that. But the time line for a green belt project is assumed to be 2-3 months. Is there any way to expedite the closure and see improvement or any way for phased improvement before closure that can be measured ? Because In a current market situation, any problem should be addressed and controlled swiftly. Even the sponser expects the same instead of waiting for 2-3 months to execute a project and witness the improvement. Are Agile concepts are handy here ? Or Agile is used only for Software Development or IT related projects ( incremental phased delivery where requirements are not fixed ) and it's not for BPO and other services ? Please suggest.
October 2, 20223 yr That is another interesting question, Santhilnathan. Agile concepts do help in this situation. However, the most powerful methods of accelerating the DMAIC sequence lie in use of Simulation techniques. You can learn and use Simulation methods to bring down 2-3 months duration to less than a month in many cases. For this, you need to have access to data and its variability and knowledge of business modelling methods. These methods are covered in the BME (Business Modelling Expert) competency of Master Black Belt program. Agile approaches are more useful for other scenarios like developing a new product or process, addressing a major client escalation, military response to an militant aggression, and many other scenarios that require collaborative and creative team efforts. If you want to understand this in detail - Consider that Agile is more useful in Complex and Chaotic contexts and DMAIC is useful in Complicated context as explained at the Cynefin Framework link below -
October 5, 20223 yr Author Thank you Sir. I believe the simulation methods are very much important to narrow down multiple solutions. Whether the simulation topics are covered in Black Belt program?
October 7, 20223 yr Simulations are covered in the BME (Business Modelling Expert) competency of Master Black Belt program.
October 9, 20223 yr Author Is Process simulation ( Discrete event simulation ) that you're referring to ?
October 13, 20223 yr Hi Senthilnathan, Discrete event simulation is built in an industry and process specific manner. We, at Benchmark Six Sigma are referring to Monte Carlo Simulation which is broad-based and usable in multiple domains.
October 13, 20223 yr Author Thank you Sir. Is there any prerequisite or eligibility to do Business Modelling Expert certification?
