I have some confusion. Pareto and Pie chart both are giving same details the only thing is design is different.

 

Please clarify what is difference between Pareto chart and pie character except design.

Both Pareto and Pie chart (in fact all graphs) are only data visualization tools. Having said that, each chart has a specific purpose

 

Pareto chart - shows the rank order in the data (by sorting the data in descending order)

Pie chart - shows the data as 'part of the whole pie' (data may not be sorted in descending order)

 

 

Pareto's 80/20 rule is a prioritization rule and you may apply it to a pie chart as well (for that matter you may apply it to a bar chart as well).

 

Another reason why a Pareto might be preferred is if there are too many slices. Pie chart may look very cumbersome.
