December 10, 201213 yr The solution to this problem should be “ An IVR/ a note placed on the top of the switch stating “ to go down press down arrow and to go up press up arrow” needs to be there in the building/ on top of the switch which would direct the consumer to use it properly. Also, there should be a cancel switch to cancel the command if they inappropriately press the wrong switch. Initial days of installation, there should be an expert who would train the lift man (if there is one) the correct way.
December 12, 201213 yr The problem is the 'Up' or 'Down' Sign itself. This needs to be revamped. Instead of two arrows , outside each lift adjacent to the Up & Down buttons it should be printed " To go up press "Up Arrow", To go down press "Down Arrow" This would ensure that the problem doesnot re occur
