Pareto Analysis

Featured Replies

Hi,

Somehow, i never get my pareto right... how do I depict 80:20 analysis on pareto? I have plotted Defect count on one axis and Cummilative % on other but it doesn't seem to work.

Can somebody please advice?

Thanks

Pankaj

A Pareto analysis doesn't necessarily yield an 80:20 split in effects and causes.

Is this that you are not able to discribe the analysis or r u facing a problem while making it via excel or minitab.

Thanks,

Ajeet

The ratio shall not be 80:20. It may be 90:5 or 60:25 or any other ratio. The main idea is that the majority of failure occurrences are due to minority of the reasons. If you are able to reduce your list of possible X's for the project, you should consider that you have realized the objective.
