I am from alternative energy industry. Is lean six sigma applicable in my industry?

Currently I am working in a solar light company and previously in automotive company. My entire experience in process and product improvement (defect control) and QMS. Therefore I need to enhance my skill by using six sigma concept to increase process and product performance and defect control.
