I fully agree with you, If a person focus on VOC, VOB, or BOP. Definitely person will get many ideas and projects to work opon to solve the issue by useing six sigma methodology.

Lean is focussed towards waste elimination, 5"S", Improved process flow of prodcut, JIT system, Zero Inventory, Continuous flow of product. While Sixsigma consist of more complex tools to improve process, Reduce variation in the product. Now there is new concept called Lean Six Sigma, where sixsigma methodology and lean practices both are used to improve process, reduce cost, Improved customer satisfaction etc.

Hi Ramesh, Zero defects is a approach, which in practical life, almost impossible to achive.As a good manufacturer we always keep cotrol limits tighter than customer specs and reject the product at our end only if inspected product is out of control limit, to ensure that customer is not getting any product which is out of spec. If we can ensure that product is defect free at 100% confidence level, then inspection is not required. Regds Harish

Six sigma training is really useful to any individual for development. Sixsigma is the transformation of person to see the thing from different angles. It provides the tools to see in-depth in any process.

Control chart is the best tool to monitor the process performance against the set limits (LCL & UCL), It gives us early warning before product of service get defective. So if we want to see the performance of any process. Control chart is the best tool.

Applying sixsigma have many advantages, Like cost reduction, Reduction in process variation, More reliability of product, deep understanding of process and self development.

You may go for Black belt couse, and take projects in your company. You trained people in your organisation and make them aware about benifits of sigma to develop telanted people in the organisation and to improve business performance. You can guide people to do small - small projects and use of Green belts tools in these projects.

Six Sigma Requires lot of commitement from Top management, Many times top management is not enough commited to improve the process and reduce the cost, and they have other priorities, Then also they do not go for six sigma. Sometimes TOP is not exposed to six sigma tengible benifits, so they do not focus. But I belive every organisation uses sixsigma tools by knowingly of unknowingly. Applying sixsigma is more organised way to use statical tools in proper manner in practical situation.

Implemening Six Sigma is Long term strategic descision, It has long term benifits. Implementing Six Sigma required lot of efforts from top management. If any company wants to improve the process performance and improve the customer satisfaction, then Six Sigma is the right Tool to apply.

Six Sigma is best tool to increase the indepth knowledge about any process. This is a great journy towards excellence.
