Six Sigma will continue to enjoy its relevance even after EMRs replace human medical transcription. There is nothing that Six Sigma could do to prevent this paradigm shift in medical transcription industry and we have to accept this change as a technological advancement. Although lot of automation has happened with EMR, the challenges of getting an accurate medical transcription document will remain, and will validate the relevance of Six Sigma.

It is the corporate governance that has failed at Toyota than its products. It could have easily retained its quality image by sticking to basic business ethics and acting on time. It is the same image damage experienced by Union Carbide or Shell or BP but the magnitude of damage that these companies have done to the world is much much higher than what Toyota has done.

The total area covered by all four shapes is same in both the figures (13 x 5 / 2 = 42.5 sq units). The areas of the sub-triangles, red and dark green remain the same, 3x8/2 = 12 and 5x2/2=5, respectively. Hence the difference comes from the rest of the two shapes. Area of the rectangle covered by orange and light green shapes in top figure = 5 x 3 = 15 sq units Area of the rectangle covered by orange and light green shapes in the bottom figure = 8 x 2 = 16 sq units Hence the figure at the bottom has 1 sq unit extra, which explains the gap.
