Hi everybody, I just completed a GB and am eager to do a project in the organised retail sector. I am going to apply to a leading player but before that I need to identify a couple of projects so i can leverage from what i have learnt in six sigma. Slightly OFFTOPIC: To my great suprise , in my last job with the hospitality industry , i was able to put in place a process for procurements , inventory mangement and logistics and was able to reduce the cost for both through forecasting wihout having undergone any formal training in Six sigma. I analysed the process , used information from reservations and made consumption of goods perishables and other consumables measurable and hence was able to control costs. Now im looking for a similar project in retail where it would be possible to forecast to reduce inventory costs. But since it is very difficult to predict the buying behaviour pattern of individuals across the spectrum of retail , this is a very challenging prospect. Looking forward to some replies that can help identify some CTQ's in retail that can be measured and controlled by identifying critical X's
