“CATWOE Checklist”
CATWOE checklist is a design thinking approach, developed by David Smyth in 1975 to understand the business problem and to find the solution. In contrast to “Cause and Effect Diagram” wherein problems in different domain of business are explored or identified; the CATWOE checklist is used to solve the problem, following a structured manner under predefined domains. The different domains/elements involve in this methodology are:
1. CUSTOMERS
2. ACTORS
3. TRANSFORMATION PROCESS
4. WORLD VIEW
5. OWNER
6. ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINS
Thus, collectively known as CATWOE: an acronym.
