Application of Lean Six Sigma for Telecom Infra Support Services

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can some one feedback me on How Six Sigma can be applied for providing Telecom Infra Services.

Thanks and Regards,

Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

There are several ways in which we can incorporate Six Sigma in Telecom infra.

For Example:

1.Improving the process of "Service Provisioning". Example : When corporate customer moves from their "Frame Relay or ATM" towards "IP VPN - MPLS", a lot of variance is seen in provisioning of service. Six Sigma DMAIC approach can be used.

2. Improvising the process in "Service Feasibility"

3. As a part of Continous Service Improvement we can opt for Six Sigma . Example: Services like DEL, ADSL are quite unpredictable over Wimax. This can be improvised.

4. In Customer Support , mostly ADSL (home connection) requires assistance over the phone (L1 or L2) . Six Sigma can be applied to it.

These are few in Telecom sector .

Thanks

Safdar Hussain

For the last 3 years, Benchmark Six Sigma has been engaged with training and mentoring of projects at Indus Towers (World's second largest Telecom Infrastructure Company). The results are obviously very good and due to that we continue year after year.
