January 5, 201016 yr If we have two sided tolerance then we opt Cp & CpK for validating, but in some cases there exist only one side tolerance like1) Fuel delivery minimum 80Litres/hr2) Maximum current consumption 5.5amps.3) OD: 2+0.2How to validate the process for the above mentioned?
March 13, 201016 yr I am not sure what you mean by validation. If you are trying to find out the number of defects for a one-sided specification, tools such as Minitab can do this for you. If you are trying to see if your improvement made a difference or not, you can set up an appropriate hypothesis test.
April 1, 201016 yr Dear Sathish, You can use Sigma Level as a metric which can be calculated in several ways. For one sided tolerance and normally distributed data, the method works out as Sigma Level = (upper specification limit - average)/ standard deviationOR Sigma Level = (average - lower specification limit)/ standard deviation Regards, VK
