Pls guide if Multivari chart can be used for discrete data . If yes Pls guide how ????

An example of Multivari is as below.You can use it if the data is of the form:

Tool Life (you need to examine/analyse- in which case/combination its max.)

Factors are :

Coolant (Type 1/ Trype 2)

Rake angle - (5 or 8 )

Cutting Speed - ( 30 or 50 )

and for this type of data you can plot the Multivari chart .

 You cannot use it for Discrete Data ,X Factors shd be variable and categotical i.e. they must have fixed levels , and Y should be a Variable Data .

Only the response needs to be a variable data the factors can be discrete.

Eg: Response: Avg cycle time taken to complete a Engine case in Milling Machine

Factor1: Shifts(A,B,C)

Factor2: Operator (A,B,C)

Factor3: Machine/tooling type
