March 25, 200917 yr I'm working as a Department Head( for the maintenance department) in Asahi India Glass Ltd( Manufacturing Organization) How can Six Sigma benefit me as an individual and at the organizational level?
April 14, 200917 yr If the equipment / Machines perform well then rejection / down time will be nil otherwise cost of rejection/ rework/ low production will increase the cost of production. Conduct six sigma project on frequent down times
April 14, 200917 yr Continuing with Dhananjaya's point, some more common projects relate toImproving OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)Reducing MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)Increasing MTBF (Mean Time between Failures)
June 13, 200916 yr In addition what is been said , I would like to add followingImprovement of OEE for non critical capacities will not improve net profit / revenue or productivity since it already has excess capacity. If we improve the OEE of critical resource / equipment that will be net increase of output, hence revenue and bottomlineSo while slectiing a project it can be OEE / MTTR / MTBF of critical equipment. that will be better idea. vikas
