I'm working as a Department Head( for the maintenance department) in Asahi India Glass Ltd( Manufacturing Organization) How can Six Sigma benefit me as an individual and at the organizational level?

If the equipment / Machines perform well then rejection / down time will be nil otherwise cost of rejection/ rework/ low production will increase the cost of production. Conduct six sigma project on frequent down times

Continuing with Dhananjaya's point, some more common projects relate to

• Improving OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  
• Reducing MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
  
• Increasing MTBF (Mean Time between Failures)
  

In addition what is been said , I would like to add following

Improvement of OEE for non critical capacities will not improve net profit / revenue or productivity since it already has excess capacity.  If we improve the OEE of critical resource / equipment that will be net increase of output, hence revenue and bottomline

So while slectiing a project it can be OEE / MTTR / MTBF of critical equipment. that will be better idea.
