March 25, 200917 yr "SME's cannot apply Six Sigma" is a myth. Singh Plasticizers is a small company that came into being utilizing the power behind Six Sigma. They did wonderful DOE (design of experiments) application in a very small 3 member team doing the implementation. This company has grown very well in the past few years as the utilized the power behind Six Sigma.Small companies can harness the power behind Six Sigma well because they have several advantages. 1. Quick Decision Making. 2. Less locations means quicker data collection. 3. Lesser operations or smaller scale means bigger changes are more feasible. The only limitation they may have is that they may not find it feasible to get many people trained in one batch. The solution is to send people in small groups in our open programs.
