I would like to undergo a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification program and would like to know how i can benefit from this course. Can six sigma help in Sports statistics and Analysis? Pls Advise
June 23, 200916 yr Hi Viknesh,Six SIgma can surely help in sports statistics.... you can definitely establish relationship between variables, teams, players, venues, and so on.....However in case of sports the performance depends on the individuals (players) that have inherent variables like fatigue level, psychological influences, injuries and the extent, which if measured to desired levels can help you develop models for ensuring the right methods, processes to perform better
June 23, 200916 yr Author Hi Vidhyadhar,Thank you for your reply. Now I get a brief idea of how Six Sigma can help me in my career. looking forward to undergo the certification course in the near future. Thanks once again.
June 27, 200916 yr To add to this discussion, Six Sigma is about PROCESS FOCUS. India is far behind China in Olympics medals tally because India lacks in processes that produce world class athletes, while China has many of those processes in place. Several Institutions (like the ones in China) do not call it Six Sigma but do use a systematic approach with usage of statistics to provide useful progressive inputs to coaches and players at the right stage and time.
