I'm curious to know how difficult/easy it is to be recruited into a six sigma career without having any kind of degree with it? I've worked within the telecommunications business for 10 years and wonder if the experience would compare to a recent graduate?

Six Sigma career requires some aptitude and inclination for basic maths to start with. Someone with years of experience need not worry about a formal degree to benefit from Six Sigma.

In fact, a high-school education with an aptitude for maths/ stats with good professional experience (3-5 years of process knowledge) should be good enough to get into Lean / Six sigma career starting from Green belt certification.
