Is reliability and maintainability linked with Six Sigma. Is there any significant application of Weibull distribution.

Any business problem is likely to have the opportunity to apply the DMAIC or the DMADV approach (or parts of it). As reliability and maintainability are highly linked with design, DMADV is where these are addressed. Design for manufacturability, Robust Design, Design for higher MTBF, Design for lower MTTR - these form important elements of DFSS projects. 

 

Equipment (or Part) Life Data is seen to be following Weibull distribution data many a time.
