September 2, 201312 yr 1. For analyse phase - Are all the data for tests continuous? and so 2 sample t test and Anova test to be used? 2. For defects (in CAF) critical X can be worked out from pareto analysis of total cost of occurence (frquency x cost of occurence) against defects? How can it be done on Minitab? I am finding it difficult to work it out in minitab. Case Study Data Before Improvement.xls
September 5, 201312 yr Hello Naresh Joshi, For Pareto simply you can use excel also. Enter Defects in the one column and Cost in one column. Go to Stat>Quality Tools> Paretoselect defect column under Defects and attribute data heading and select total cost data under frequency heading in the window. and you will get I have gone through the data for Hypothesis testing but I am unable to get what the data representing. Could you please elaborate a little more?
September 5, 201312 yr Author Thnks for your inputs. You will find all data in decimal form. I can just guess it appears as if it is cost and hence continuous. It would be great if you could give your inputs on one more thing. Project leader wants to compare mean connection time "Before" and "after". And defects % "before" and "after" using hypothesis test. Sheets for before and after is as attached. How to test?
September 5, 201312 yr Author Sagar I missed attachments. here they areCase Study Data Before Improvement.xlsCase Study Data Post Improvement.xls
September 6, 201312 yr Hello Naresh, To compare mean connection time before and after.Ho: before time= after timeHa: before time =! after time 1. Check data for normality2. If data normal then perform 2 variance test (F test) (Ho = variances are equal, by default selection)3. Then go for 2 Sample T test.4.If Data not Normal then go for Man Whitney Test. September 6, 201312 yr Author Thanks sagar. I got it tried and got the answer. how abt % defects before and after?
September 7, 201312 yr %age of defect can be considered as discrete data and you can use 2-proportion test.
