Quality Driven Initiative

Dear All,

We are having separate Quality department in our organization which is lead by our Management Representative (QMS/ISO). MR has selected one QCA person from from all the department/team and joined them in his quality team and designated them as QA, their primary responsibility is to audit the batches which were already performed by the individual team QCA (Quality Control Analyst) and based on the audit files/non-audit files the effiency will be calculated and it will be shared across the team. The huge flaw is there is no impact of this independent quality team as our MR not getting the co-operation from all the department functional managers and there is no effective analysis through the existing system.

Basically I am one of the ISO internal auditor/completed GB in the year of 2007 but I am in to operations. I would like to help my MR to implement the core-quality process across the organization. I felt like rather than just doing the audit and sharing the feedback to the users/ effective measurement system should be in place to pull up the critical areas and the analysing system should be more technical to deal with the facts and figures.

If anybody have implemented the core-quality process especially in ITES industry, can you share your Measurement & Analysis System through step by step (end to end till CAPA) approach. Hope it would be very much useful for everyone who would like to drive the results in their process.

Dear Suresh,

I agree to what Manian has explained. On the other hand if your company is on the way to adopt the ISO/QMS culture, there should be some awareness before seting up an expectation. There should be the deployment of following points:

  • The KRAs (Key Responabily Area) should include the cultural (ISO/QMS) requirements.
  • There should be MSR(Management System Review) Audits on monthly/quaterly frequency.
  • The finding of Audits need to be shared with the Operations Heads. The way to finding closer (resolution) needs to be discussed among the people.
  • MR should give the awareness sessions on (QMS/ISO/Six Sigma) to the poeple involved. The frequency of the sessions should be at least once a month.
  • Operations should know about the benefit (output) of deploying such culture(ISO/QMS).

So you can began with the awareness first, then sharing the results, then take the actions on failure issues. At last you will find the successful deployment of such a good Quality Culture.

Hope this will help you, feel free to revert for further visibility.

Many Thanks,

Gurshit Singh
