Dear Friends, Control chart is the final step in the process omptimisation, before that their lot of study ot be carried out like : What are the CTQ's of Bussiness than from CTQ's we need to find the process which are significant for CTQ's for that process or process parameters we need to have stability study done and once process is stable than need ot go for Capability study. In capability study we also defined the Index which is desired not necessary always 1.33 or 1.67 or 2.00 it totally depends upon the criticality of the parametrs. Once the desired capability achived than once should go for implementation of Process control chart. for sustainance of achived capability. Hence contorl chart is only for to monitor th sustainance of achived process capability. That's what I am thinking, incase anybody has different opinion pls share.

Dear Ahmad, This two department are the intrgral part of total bussiness chain, The Quality Department is suppler to the Marketing Department which ensures the product or service deliverd to the customer is as expected or more than the expectation of customer. Marketing Depatment provides the input so called VOC ( Voice of Customer ) to Quality and Quality Department in-cordination with Process engg. Convert VOC into VOP ( Voice of Process) and Identifies the process which are affecting the need and wants of the customers and work with process department to improve the maturity of that process, which in turns helps marketing to satisfy customers needs as well as their benchmarking process.
  3. HI, In purchase we can very well use the Six Sigma for example , Purchasing is the intergal fuction of operations. So Value engg. project in-cordination with the design or Engineering or Production purchsing department can take lead to run the projects in the organisation. Import Substitution is one of the area where purchase can initiate the Six Sigma projects. Purchasing fuction can also work with the supplier and cary out the projects at supplier premises on profit sharing basis, that will help to reduce the total bill of material cost. HI, In Market research first try to understand the Customer Voice in may be in the form of Verbatim than convert the same into the Technical Needs and Wants of the customer Carry out the benchmarking wiht the competition, Identify the GAPS and assign the projects of SIX SIGMA to bridge the GAP. With this study many more opprtunity's will come to work upon to understand the customers needs and wants in terms of QCDSM and you can very well define the projects to meets or exceeds the customers needs and wants.
