May 20, 200917 yr Dear BK,plz specify the difference between green belt and balck belt projects, and in what way i can implement black belt in animal feed industryFrancis
May 21, 200917 yr Hi John, From a practical standpoint it can be said that working on a BB project involves working on more complex & cross (overlapping) functions, which is less likely in a GB project. Per the second part in your question (SS in animal feed industry), animal feed essentially involves vegetation & other natural resources, conservation (as their depletion is more than production) of which is of prime importance in the present times. I have opined on the topic 'Environmental Six Sigma' in this forum. You may have a look at the same if you wish, for some leads. Further to VK sir & others here for more thoughts. Thanks & rgds.
May 21, 200917 yr Hi John, Black belt Project will lead to major Business impact, Strategic Decisions which will be executed & Implemented at the Business unit level. whereas In Green belt project the impact is less and pertaining to a process. RegardsHarsha
May 27, 200917 yr When you say Sig Sigma project it should not differentiated in terms of GB or BB project from the company angle. Aim is to reduce the variability and bring more quality and financial savings also. Still you want to differentiate, I would say a BB project should be thorough professional leadership, project management, time management and implmentation of the improvement thought off and a definite financial impact to the company. You may do a GB project to showcause your skills acquired in Six Sigma and use that as a stepping stone for the next project.
May 28, 200917 yr Hi John,The basic difference in between BB & GB1. BB is for more complex problems relating to interdepartmental impact. (The project will involve different departments of a company)2. Huge financial Impact ( $0 to $500,000 saving GB & .5 million or above BB3. Can include small GB projects within a BB ( Combination of GB's resluting in a big impact or solution)If you can send me a write up of your project, can help you further.RegardsAmol
