October 13, 201015 yr HiQuality Assurance Department with quality Assurance Specialist are not willing to accept the 6Sigma GB professional as a member to work as statistical data analyst since they are not aware of the methods & skills learned in bench mark six sigma. In this situation what are steps to be taken to prove them that the bench mark six sigma GB can help them in a much better way to improve their job?I am sure that this discussion will help may young GB professional to prepare well for the interview and face the challenges with confidence.
October 15, 201015 yr Dear Bhaskar.......there is a difference w.r.t. a professional and just a certificate holder. 4 days of training giving a new comer a exposure into statistical techniques can never make him a professional or an expert. It is in the interest of the concerned individuals to augment their expertise and wisdom in the area by subjecting themselves to more continued learning and involvement with the subject so as to call themselves as professionals. It certainly takes more than 4 days!!
October 15, 201015 yr Hi,Pls let me know what should be the apporach adhered by a fresh GB passout in industry to get a proper job and imporve his work perfomance.
October 16, 201015 yr Dear Varun....GB and BB are add-ons and not primary or post graduate qualifications. It tries to mould the individual minds to look at things around them in qualitative terms. So basically it is a mindset. Having understood this, it never guarantees you any job change or career growth opportunities unless it is coupled with other operations, project management or practical exposure of similar nature or in quality management itself. Thus, if otherwise, you are already into something of those kind of roles, nobody is stopping you from practicing that in your current work area. Also you can take the help of your current HR/ management in the company and inform them that you will be interested in taking up assignments pertaining to your new found area of interest. And then follow it passionately.
October 26, 201015 yr My suggestion would be to stick with the current job and execute one or two projects. There are many reasons to this. for instance...1. In your current organization bringing changes on the table will not be that difficult as people management will be easy because or prior interaction/support as compare to any new firm with new people.2. Once you have successfully executed and presented the improvements to the authorities, you might not look around for a new job.Even after executing the improvements successfully, you want to switch over; than you can show case your projects along with your expertise in the related field as explained by Srikanth... Wbr,Sujeet Singh
October 27, 201015 yr Hi Sujeet and Srikanth,What if the current organization is not interested in implementing Six Sigma. I am the only Six Sigma certified employee in my company. Me finished my GB training just 3 days back at Benchmark. The no. of employees are also less, so implementation of six sigma in the current organization is almost impossible. My objective in getting GB was career change. Please give me your opinions on how to kick start my career.ThanksJagannath S
October 27, 201015 yr Dear Jagannath; If this is the situation then, I will recommend you to find out the pain area of your management, even if your organization is not interested in six sigma but they should be interested in over coming there long standing problems. Still if you feel like that, execution of six sigma in ur organization is not possible than you can look around for the firm where you can use your SS skill set and at the same time they have the requirement of people with the same skill set. But still for a fresh GB having one or two completed projects always be advantageous. Good luck!!!

November 4, 201015 yr Hai,'Walk the talk' mgmt philosophy is very apt for Six Sigma way of life. It is very true that whenever we talk the NVA and VA language, the acceptance for improvement is higher than putting it across as development points.
November 4, 201015 yr Hi Preethi,Its 100% true "Walk the Talk" is more helpful & Powerful apt to identify the issues, inspiring and influence the people.
