March 12, 20206 yr I am a MBB and would like to start a Lean transformation journey for a organization. what level of the system i should attempt to work on ? Should i start big bang whole company to go to lean? or pick up one specific team and transform it to Lean? and keep expanding as the existing teams become lean Regards Bala
July 26, 20214 yr Hello, In my humble opinion I would recommend to start with a pilot lean project (maybe you could start with 5S) in an area, showcase the results, gain momentum from all levels and then roll out your lean transformation plan throughout your organization. But remember as a MBB it is imperative to identify and execute projects delivering high business value. Good luck with your implementation.
August 25, 20214 yr I would suggest to pick specific area/ team and keep expanding. As Lean is a culture it will take time and you need lean practitioners who can help spread it in the whole organization. So, start small and create lean champions. You are MBB and know much much better than me off-course. I just shared my thoughts.
January 10, 20242 yr Lean deployment needs strong leadership champions. If this is already in place, a lean deployment can begin, but be careful to have and set realistic expectations. Don't start all at once across the organization; start with the most enthusiastic champions/processes and build a strong LSS team. Many operational leads are good LSS candidates because they seek ways to improve their processes, and lean is a powerful way for them! Train them! Vet which projects could use LSS. Also, vet who the LSS project managers will be and mentor them as an MBB. Build a proof of concept using these initially. Scale the deployment once you have a good combination of skills across teams and champions in the culture.
