Q1: What is Master Black Belt?

Master Black Belt (MBB) is a management qualification for strategically leading continuous improvement in an organization while working closely with leadership. An MBB’s biggest skill is to pick and execute suitable methods for a short-term or a long-term business challenge.

A Business Excellence Master Black Belt has ability to utilize advanced Lean methods, model building & simulation, creativity approaches, theory of constraints, and comparison methods. In addition, an MBB needs to know how technology approaches in Business Analytics and Robotic Process Automation can be put to good use for business results.

Q2: What is required for Master Black Belt certification?

Master Black Belt requires completion of 8 certifications in addition to Black Belt Certification. These eight certifications are Lean Practitioner, Lean Guide, Business Modelling Expert, Business Value Analyst, Creativity and Innovation Practitioner, AHP Practitioner, RPA Foundation and Business Analytics Foundation.

While these 9 certifications (including Black Belt) can be pursued at different times, completion of all leads to MBB qualification.

A Master Black Belt should be willing to lead problem solving in a Strategic Business Unit of an organization.

Q3: How long does it take to get a Business Excellence Master Black Belt?

A Master Black Belt qualification will require about 6-8 weeks if Black Belt certification is already completed.

While completing classes and practice sessions takes only weeks, building thorough competence will take months or years of practice. A Master Black Belt needs to work closely with leadership team to be able to apply his learning and hone his skills further. For quick results, it is best for a company to partner with an expert external consultant to build this competence with application orientation.

    • Business Excellence Master Black Belt moves beyond Six Sigma to integrate contemporary competencies.
    • This program consists of 8 certifications namely Lean Practitioner, Lean Guide, Business Modelling Expert, Creativity and Innovation (TRIZ) Practitioner, Business Value Analytics, Business Analytics Foundation, Strategic RPA Practitioner, and AHP Practitioner.
    • The program focuses on 5X value creation in one-fifth of the time when compared by Lean Six Sigma Black Belts.

Very Valuable Program

In search of a program to fill my gaps in operational excellence, finally got it and completely satisfied by this program. When compared with all others this is very practically designed, not too much only on data analysis. All the 8 Competencies covered the required, remembering the initial talk with trainer VK, self requested about the program design based on whether any excellence program such as EFQM, MBNQ; now agreed those words all are checklist but this program does not only meet the checklist of any excellence programs, it also paves way further for any individual towards next level. Great learning experience

The whole journey of MBB was as exciting and interesting as going through a journey of going through a museum, learning, and getting access so much of unexplored stuff. Every competency was ready to apply tool and an augmentation to the skill set of current business environment. The content, it’s delivery, and engagement during the sessions was the best in blended learning with a mix of hands-on and classroom basis.
