Don’t “talk the process”…rather walk it!

Process-Walking, the first step towards required change.

These days information can be accumulated and communicated in so many ways, that anyone can easily lose track and wander away in these details. The challenge seems identical when it comes to searching and understanding the approaches i.e., finding efficient and less time-consuming ways to go through large sets of data and facts to discover the truth.

The brief solution is that one may in no way apprehend the whole thing and also should not anticipate it. It is absurd for process analysts to stroll onto research and set about seeking to examine every piece of record of a topic that has been created over a large period of time and also which has been sitting within the minds of a number of subject matter experts. The correct way is to take up the technique of how much a person wants to understand to know that he/she knows enough or not.

Even though workshops have value, and intense interviews can add intensity, walking the process instead of talking is something different and preferable. It is a simple process that includes very genuinely following the waft of data and facts through the process-walking to individuals or departments and asking them to guide through their work. Information will usually not appear in structured systems and come out from someplace else, however, it can be always observed in that way too.

Walking the process helps to understand and visualize the process in a better way or let’s say, to get a comparatively better view of the flows inside the head. Additionally, it also helps to develop relationships with the workers involved in the process and to provide a better explanation for what someone is seeking to achieve. The workers develop a sense of belief and trust through walking the process which encourages them to talk openly about how they carry out their work and what are the difficulties they face while working. While organizing a workshop for the same group would result in creating a totally different environment of organization dynamics where the workers may or may not be able to express their thoughts and views in the same manner.

Walking the process is a perfect first step towards the required change, so one should gather adequate knowledge before underestimating the strength of walking the process.
