  1. This cartoon strip features me. I guess you can find the answer that I am referring to.. Type it out if you got it.
  2. Question - A forensic expert walks into a room with a bunch of dead Six Sigma Black Belts who show no visible signs of injury. What's the first thing he should check for? Answer: Poisson distribution.
  3. Gurneet (Banta's wife) displays her flow chart learning through a real life domestic flow chart.
  4. Banta Singh was an important Military troupe leader in the British Indian Army that fought the World War II. During the war one day, someone broke the news in the Army camp - "1 Brazilian and 2 hundred Indians died today". (Brazil was on the same side of allies as was the British Indian Army in the World War). As Banta heard this, he was shocked and looked absolutely depressed. His eyebrows went up and he kept muttering "1 Brazilian, 1 Brazilian". The Indians in the troupe were a little surprised - Banta did not mention the "200 Indians" even once. It took long for Banta to regain his composure. Still looking heavily shaken, he started looking somewhat puzzled. Finally, he spoke slowly - Is my whole country wiped off? By the way "how many is one bazillion?"
  5. We are initiating an exciting contest. Please read the following. I have designed few characters for a cartoon strip that shall be a community co-creation. I can design more characters if you provide some great suggestions. The whole idea of this strip is to relate our jobs with Lean Six Sigma and have some fun together. I am thinking of having one strip every week based on the best idea received during the week. The comic strip created based on your idea shall carry your name. You may start sending your comic strip concepts to me considering the following characters (actors). A strip may just carry two actors or multiple actors. Well, Banta can be thinking alone in a comic strip (as well). A comic strip shall carry a minimum of two blocks and a maximum of ten. You do not need to worry about expressions and drawings. I shall take care of that. You just need to provide the idea. Let us co-create cartoon strips that have some great messages (some can just be plain fun) Here are the heroes that I created - click on the image to see the description. Bhaskar is the MBB Jeet is the Sales Head Gautam is recently Green Belt trained Banta was in QC. Got trained in Black Belt recently (but did not gather much) Manik Bhai is the money driven Chairman Param is the Oxford trained VP Operations Mrs Hume is the HR Head Sujoy is the customercare guy. Lily is the Office Assistant who went for a different Green Belt program. Isaac is the highly educated person from R&D. If you have read the introductions well, Banta is going to do some assignments at home and local society. I need to add some characters from his locality and home soon.
  6. Please view the introduction to these characters in the previous post by using this link Another - Closer look at the characters now. Again, you may click on images to magnify them Bhaskar (MBB) Jeet (Sales) Gautam (Recently trained Green Belt) Banta (Trained as BB, exam due) Manik Bhai (Owner, Promoter) Param (VP Operations) Mrs. Hume (HR) Sujoy (Customer Care) Lily (Office Assistance) Isaac (R&D) Get your creative juices going. Read the previous article for contest and reward for winners. Cheers!
  7. When fire broke out in an office, the reason identified was a burning cigarette butt. Few minutes later, a Master Black Belt was seen throwing burning cigarette butts at several places in the office. Aghast at his behavior, senior people summoned him up at the meeting room. He explained - Well, you see we cannot conclude unless we have enough samples!!!
  8. Q: How many Black Belts are required on an HR Head's project to reduce attrition? A: It doesn't matter. By the time, the Six Sigma team completes the Cpk, CTQ, R&R, QFD, DOE, 5S and SPC, the HR head who wanted the answer is likely to have moved on to another company!
