Statistical Process Control
What is Statistical Process Control?
Measuring the performance of a process is imperative because the process is the only thing you control. Statistical Process Control helps in measuring and visualizing the process performance. The information collected helps drive continuous improvement in your processes, hence, puts you ahead of the competition.
Background
Dr. Walter Shewhart of Bell Laboratories initially developed the concepts of SPC. The concepts were further expanded by Dr. W. Edwards Deming after the second World War. It has, since, gone through changes in terms of how and when to modify the fundamental thoughts behind the usage. SPC has become an essential method of measuring and controlling quality by monitoring the ongoing processes. We have conducted this course for ACG and Coca Cola in the past.
Objective
This course will help the participants understand when is SPC feasible. The participants will learn to discern the types of variation and when to take action. The participants will understand how this tool can help companies move from detection to prevention. The participants will be equipped to understand which tools and charts should be used for various types of data to unleash the full power of SPC.
