Net Present Value

Use this calculator to compute the Net Present Value (NPV) for a single future cash flow
  • Enter the amount of the future cash flow (this calculator assumes that there is only one future cash flow)
  • Enter the expected rate of interest or the discount rate to compute the present value (e.g. for 8%, just enter 8)
  • Enter the number of years after which the cash flow is expected (e.g. 5 years)
  • Enter the amount of initial investment that is expected to generate the future cash flow
  • The Net Present Value for the given initial investment, discount rate, future cash flow and time period. Positive NPV means the investment is profitable, whereas a negative NPV means it is a loss making investment
